Publisher's Synopsis
This curriculum unit integrates literature with social studies as it introduces students to the legacy of architecture, science, mathematics, art, language, sports, government, and justice that Western civilizations have borrowed from the ancient Greeks. As the students read Greek myths they learn about the Golden Age of Greece, the Minoans, and the Myceneans. Included is an opportunity to reenact the trial of Socrates where the students become the citizens who convict or exonerate him.
