Publisher's Synopsis
Othello, general of the army of the Republic of Venice, and Desdemona, daughter of Senator Brabancio, fall in love and get married in secret. Iago, one of the alféreces of the Moor, moved by the hatred he feels towards him, tries to provoke Otelo's jealousy by making him believe that his wife is unfaithful to Casio, his most loyal lieutenant. Victim of his terrible jealousy, Othello finishes killing Desdemona and later, when discovering that everything has been a deception of the evil lago, he commits suicide.
