Publisher's Synopsis
Jack Field is a man of many faces. He's a master of deception and the head of Operation Viper, a covert decoy unit working to root out foreign intelligence agents lurking within the United States. His code name is Viper, and he takes pride in his ability to play any role necessary to protect his country.
The story begins with Jack deep undercover, posing as a wealthy businessman in an effort to draw out a Russian spy who has been funneling information back to Moscow. Jack is confident that he's about to make a breakthrough, but suddenly, the target disappears without a trace. Jack is left wondering what went wrong and begins digging deeper into the case.
As Jack investigates, he discovers that there's a mole within Operation Viper. Someone is working against him and his team, putting their lives in danger. Jack knows he needs to find the mole quickly, but it won't be easy. The mole is clever and highly connected, always staying one step ahead of Jack.
As the conflict intensifies, Jack becomes increasingly desperate. Every lead seems to end in a dead end, and he's not sure who to trust anymore. But he's determined to see it through, knowing that if he doesn't stop the mole soon, there will be consequences for his team and his country.
Months later, Jack finally uncovers the truth: the mole is someone he never expected, someone he trusted implicitly. With the help of his team, Jack is able to take down the mole and put an end to their treachery. But the victory is bittersweet. Jack has lost something important along the way, and he's not sure if he'll ever get it back.
