Publisher's Synopsis

The composer Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta met John Cage in 1985, at the Biennale of São Paulo. They quickly became friends and Pimenta started collaborating with him and Merce Cunningham. Such collaboration continued over the seven last years of Cage's life and for more than twenty-five years with Cunningham, with hundreds of concerts all over the world. In the celebrations of the centennial of John Cage in 2012, Emanuel Pimenta organized, contributed or participated in more than thirty-eight events in seven countries dedicated to his old friend. Legendary Lucrezia De Domizio, Baroness Durini, participated in several of those art, music and philosophy moments and was curator of the closing event in the famous castle of Bari, in Italy. One Hundred Years with John Cage tells the adventure of these events that happened as a celebration of people and friendship, as John Cage did in his entire life.
