On the Genealogy of Morals is a book written by Friedrich Nietzsche. Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher that was born on October 15,1844 and died on August 24,1900. This book was one of Friedrich Nietzsche's more famous pieces of work that he was mostly known for. The Hackett Publishing Company published this book in 1987. The book was originally published in German and then translated by Maudemarie Clark into English.This book consists of three treatises. The first treatise is called "Good and Evil, Good and Bad" and is about comparing what wealthy people think of the slaves and what the slaves think of the wealthy. The second treatise is called "Guilt, Bad Conscience" and talks about the origins of guilt and what it really means. The last treatise is called "What does ascetic ideals mean?" and talks about asceticism and how "man would rather will nothingness than not will".
