Publisher's Synopsis

Thoughts and feels of a woman in her mid-30s emerging and merging into the woman she was always meant to be.

#OnLustLoveAndEverythingInBetween is a series of 4 short thought pieces Daphné Essiet wrote between 2015 and 2016; the reflections triggered her creative-writing bone and she started to documents as blog entries (https: //fgibk.com/).

Daphné always read poetry growing up and especially loved Baudelaire, De la Fontaine, and Verlaine. However, it is when she started to read Maya Angelou and Nikki Giovanni that she realized her words sounded too like poesie.

In September 2017 she took a poetry class through Interactive Poetry Workshop in City College lead by JP Howard curator for Women Writers in Bloom Salon and performed her poetry Live for the first time, subsequently participating in a few open mics throughout New York City.

At the beginning of June 2019, she decided to curate her poems and self-published 50 of them into this 123 pages book.

Daphné Mia Essiet multicultural multidisciplinary artist. She expresses her love for art through music, visual art, and poetry. Her art is inspired by Love, the Black Experience, Womanhood, Travels, Self-Discovery, and Society.
