Publisher's Synopsis
In this first published book, Lilly brings her creativity to the field of poetry, putting into words her inner experiences and visions of the world. This first compendium of poetry collects an assorted number of poems from the past few years that dwelled on the issues of wanting and loss.
The idea behind this book arose 5 years ago, when Lilly decided to assemble her various poems into a consistent thematic exposition, especially the "Faerie Sonnets" and "Of Dreams" poems, contrasted to the darker, more personal and modern, confessional free-verse poems.
The book is composed of two major chapters - the first one, "Of Dreams", paints the rosier picture of youthful hopes, wonders and aspirations, the marvelous daydreaming of our ever hopeful joyful desires.
The second part, "Of Sorrow", is a darker, dreadful, painful journey into the soul's tempestuous volitions, the black pits of despair that sprout gasping and yawning, tearing our naive lives, oftentimes at the inclemency of an uncaring world and others.
To read these poems is to take a journey through our own life experiences, sentiments and sensations, filled with wonderful ideas to behold, dreams and sorrows, the world seen through the poet's eyes.
