Winner of The Xpress Yourself '94 Black Writers Award. In the tranquil Jamaican countryside two families continue a long-standing and bitter feud over land. Both families' children - classmates at school - enter the fray and their bitter rivalry is spurred on by their parents' hateful vendetta. When a member of one of the families is found hanging from a tree, a murder hunt ensues but some suspect the work of Obeah (slang for voodoo) and a sinister twist is added when more deaths follow.
