Publisher's Synopsis
Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness " is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence. In a modern society what seems to make people most happy is physical money. Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. Spiritually God's wisdom is hidden from our carnal mind and we will have to seek it out with all our hearts. The thought of the pursuit of happiness leads us to believe we will have to chase it to obtain it. Pursuit: the action of following or pursuing someone or something. Sometimes when we pursue a thing or person once we obtain that thing; later to be revealed that thing did not make us happier. I recall reading on a box which contain a 12-inch male doll and it said that his job was to make his female counterpart doll happy. Strange I thought maybe it should be the other way around and this toy product is aimed at kids. Job 5:17
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. We have no desire to be corrected by an unknown entity: who is God unknown to our moral thinking. Acts 17:23
For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. I declare this day we have created in our mind an image of an unknown God and this image is ourselves.
