At the beginning of the 16th century on the southeast coast of Mexico two universes collided, changing forever the identity of the inhabitants of the Aztec empire. 15-year-old Ixtaca, a Mexica noblewoman, tells her story of the Spanish conquest, a tragedy of genocidal proportions. The priest Salvador, sent to evangelize the "indios", has a different version. In this novel about the encounter between alien worlds, everybody loses their personal cosmos and emerges into a landscape full of contradictions.
