Notable Corporate Chronologies

This three-volume set is designed with indexes to facilitate searching. The 1200 company entries are spread over two volumes with 600 companies listed in both. Entries are arranged alphabetically.;Each of the volumes provides a single timeline beginning with the earliest date cited in the work and proceeding to the present. In addition, each volume contains a "Master name" and "Keyword index" citing the 1200 corporate names, former names, acquisitions and joint venture names, names of executives and other individuals cited in the entries, selected major product names and other appropriate keywords from the chronology descriptions.;The third volume is the "Master index", and this integrates all of the indexes in the first two volumes. It includes a "Master forthcoming anniversary index", a "Master name" and "Keyword index" and a "Geographic index". A "Master chronology" combines all corporation types in the set.;Each chronology lists and describes 30 or more major events that mark the significant moments in a corporation's development. Each milestone date includes the year and, where possible, the month and day, along with a brief description of the event. Milestones typically cover such events as: company founding, major scandals or incidents, mergers and significant acquisitions, financial milestones, major stock offerings and strikes. The set gives balanced coverage, with both established firms included, as well as notable newcomers.
