Publisher's Synopsis
Reed
At this moment, the only thing I want in the world is to be that fork. Her lips opening, wrapping around me. Their smooth wet slide to the tip as she pulls it out. My brain stops working. Blood whooshing in my ears makes it impossible to hear and I feel my body temperature rise.
My eyes are still on the fork digging into the cake for another bite. The fork that's now suspended halfway to her mouth. I watch it lower back to the plate and sense her turn slightly towards me, dragging my eyes back to hers.
There's a smile playing on those lips. Tentatively, she looks up at me, tucking the piece of hair behind her ear again.
I'm in trouble.
