Publisher's Synopsis
Rosie's safe world - watched over by her devoted Uncle Bert and Auntie Maggie - is turned upside down when her school friend tells her that "Your mum's a tart". Rosie is used to being with a motley group of grown-ups in the cafe in Old Compton Street, amongst them the mysterious Perfumed Lady, who makes an appearance from time to time. Usually the worse for drink, she laughs a lot and wears clothes like a princess. She brings Rosie presents and Rosie thinks she is her fairy godmother. Of course, she is Rosie's real mum...and one day, might want to reclaim her.
