"Northbound Into the Wilderness" is a Historical Fiction based on true events of an adventurous woman living in the remote Alaska wilderness. Running away from an abusive relationship and with a spirit of adventure, Casey sets out to fulfill a lifelong dream of living a subsistence lifestyle in the Alaska wilderness. Casey endures many challenges living in the remote Copper River Valley including the 2002 Denali Earthquake that reached a magnitude of 7.9, rocking Alaskans living along the Tok Cutoff. As Casey reaches deep within herself she finds an inner strengh to love and survive a unique lifestyle that has been lost in the modern world for over two hundred years.
