Low, slender, terrestrial herbs. Leaves entire or remotely serrulate. Scape erect, slender. Inflorescence laxly paniculate, bipinnate or tripinnate. Floral bracts minute. Flowers small, white or green. Sepals free, squamiform. Petals much longer than the sepals, free, naked, elliptic. Stamens free. Ovary wholly superior, glabrous. Placentae extending practically the whole length of the ovary. Style slender, equaling the stamens. Capsule septicidal or loculicidal.
