Our analytical heritage in macrodynamics - indeed even the word - owes a great deal to Ragnar Frisch. The tradition of quantitative methods in economic analysis owes not a little to that great trio of Norwegian theorists: Frisch himself, Trygve Haavelmo and Leif Johansen. These essays, in that tradition, prepared by a group of internationally renowned macro-theorists, pays homage to Bjorn Thalberg - student, friend, colleague and collaborator of that famous Norwegian trio.
