Publisher's Synopsis
The kinetics and mechanisms of (free)–radical polymerization of (macro)monomers in dispersed systems was the topic of "Non–Conventional Polymer Dispersions", the IUPAC–sponsored microsymposium and 15th Bratislava International Conference held in Smolenice in June, 2001. Synthetic approaches using micro–, mini– and multi–emulsions and nanostructured media were items of particular interest. The preparation of polymer particles of a range of sizes (nm––mm) was discussed and the advanced design of particle structure was a recurring theme, with many types of specialty products and materials covered. A collection of the presentations have been prepared for publication in this volume Macromolecular Symposia.
