Publisher's Synopsis
The three friends, Madge Elliott, Pamela Stanton and Leah Weinberg, whose earlier adventures were told in Hot Water and She Went to London, have returned to Garlands for the beginning of the term in which they are to become fifth-formers. Madge and Pamela have no desire to be prefects, preferring their old happy-go-lucky outlook to responsibility, while Leah is too interested in other things to be enthusiastic about it. But their reactions to events of the term, which include a mock election, the mysterious disappearance of Nancy Groves and adventure at a film studio, are a surprise even to themselves, and they decide they must be growing up. The final book in the Leah Weinberg trilogy.
