Publisher's Synopsis
As front man for Heretic, Wade Griffin planned on spending the rest of his life touring alongside his brother, Os, and best friend, Joe. All he ever wanted - all he ever needed was his music. And to cater to millions of screaming fans from one venue to the next? Well, that's just an added bonus. But having their highly-idolized drummer get caught molesting minors and sent to prison isn't exactly the type of hype they're accustomed to. As one of the music world's most popular metal bands, Wade and the rest of Heretic have to move on with their new drummer, Chris Rebman, hoping to leave the past where it belongs. But there's only one problem in Wade's world of music, girls, and tattoos... Chris is actually Christine. And they're tearing it up across the US. But popularity isn't always a good thing. In fact, Wade's list of problems just keep mounting: avoid the media all at costs, make sure Joe doesn't smoke too much weed, keep Chris disguised as a guy, get Os to accept a girl in the band, protect her from droves of screaming fans, and last but not least - don't fall in love with her. But he's not doing so well on any of those. When Chris can think of nothing but winning over Heretic's fan base as a girl, her dreams are cut short when her dark past resurfaces at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Caught between love and lyrics, Wade will have to come to terms with his own past if he is to pull off the performance of a lifetime.
