Publisher's Synopsis
This report is one of a series dealing with pollutants. The Expert Panel on Air Quality Standards was set up by the Sectretary of State for the Environment in 1991 to establish an expert panel to advise the government on air quality standards. Nitrogen dioxide is a gas produced by reaction of nitrogen and oxygen in combustion processes. The reaction takes place in two stages, the first resulting in the combination of one atom of each of the gases to form nitric oxide, this compound then being oxidized over time to produce nitrogen oxide. This report gives air quality information.
