Publisher's Synopsis

Nirvana was a rock band formed in 1987 by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington, US. The group had a series of drummers, the longest-lasting and best-known being Dave Grohl, who joined in 1990. Although having released only 3 full-length studio albums during their 7-year career, Nirvana has come to be considered as one of the most influential and important alternative rock bands in history. The group dissolved in 1994 after the death of Cobain, but their music still has a significant following, while continuing to influence modern rock 'n' roll culture.
