The war between the alien group, the Legion, and humans spans decades. As humans struggle to survive, hard choices are made, resulting in inhumane experiments and the creation of Dr. Gian's Legendary program. Children as young as thirteen were taken and forced into a military experiment that resulted in thousands' deaths. Those that survived went on to be Legendary soldiers and humanity's last chance to win the seemingly never-ending war. As the war drags on and the amount Legendary soldiers shrink, the time comes for more hard decisions to be made. These decisions fall on the shoulders of another type of enhanced soldier. Dr. Ryder tried to replicate the Legendary program's effects on her daughter and create an experiment that resulted in the same enhancements but without the mortality rate as Dr. Gian's program. Before Dr. Ryder can finish her experiments, she is killed, leaving only one survivor of the new program. Jade Ryder, AKA NightStorm.NightStorm's military file reports on over half her life, with success in even the most impossible solo missions and the deaths of thousands of Legion members. She is well known, both on the Lexian military base and on military bases of other planets. For her, nothing else matters but completing her mission. This philosophy becomes shaken when she is paired with a Legendary soldier. Now NightStorm is forced to place her trust in the same soldiers she hates. At the same time, NightStorm realizes that not everything her superiors say is the truth. NightStorm is forced to turn away from her military life and find the truth about the war she spent her entire life fighting for. A war that took so much from her. A war that may be the death of her.
