Publisher's Synopsis

At midnight on January 13, 1838, Joseph Smith rode out of Kirtland, Ohio, pursued by armed men. The horse the Prophet rode was his favorite--a twelve-year old black stallion called Old Charlie. Neither Joseph nor Charlie would ever see Kirtland again. Over the coming months they would travel eight hundred miles with the Prophet's family through snow and bitter cold, and finally across the frozen Mississippi River, to a new home in the place called Far West.

One of the lowliest figures in Mormon history, Old Charlie was an eyewitness to most of the pivotal events in early Church history. The new historical novel Night Ride from Kirtland is an unforgettable journey through Church history.
