Publisher's Synopsis

This anthology includes some of the best poems of Thomas Hornsby Ferril, American poet of the twentieth century. The poems were written over a span of thirty years between the 1920s and 1950s, and display Ferril's sensitivity and understanding of the Rocky Mountain region of the American West in which he wrote. Ferril's most common themes are time and continuity. He weaves together past memories and present experiences to creat a unique anticipatory tone in his work. Also included in this volume is Words for Leadville, winner of the Oscar Blumenthal Award for poetry.
