New Perspectives in Social Education Book 4 is the outcome of a major curriculum development project initiated by the Victorian Association of Social Studies Teachers. The four books create a comprehensive Social Education program for Years 7-10. Each book is sequential, beginning with Book 1 for Year 7. However, a flexible design of the course enables successful entry to the programme at any stage. The New Perspectives in Social Education project promotes an interdisciplinary approach which will also be relevant to students of Geography, History, Australian Studies and Environmental Studies. The content and methodology reflects the aims and philosophy of the national curriculum intitiatives and provide teachers with curriculum resources.
