Publisher's Synopsis
Getting away is only the beginning.
A life of abuse and terror has pushed Tyler far beyond his limits. He's finally taken his first step toward freedom and ran away from the man he thought he loved. Starting over isn't easy though. With nobody to help him, Tyler's completely alone. He can't trust anybody to do anything for him. Anyone who gets too close could lead his abusive ex-boyfriend Parker straight to him. It's a solitary life, but that was the cost of his freedom. After managing to funnel away just enough to start a new life, Tyler has enrolled in a local community college, hoping that by furthering his education, he could make something of himself. However, going somewhere public means people, and people are a risk. Anthony, however, is tired of looking for love in all the wrong places. He'd tried the bar crawls and slogged through the dating pool. Every time it ended in heartbreak. All he wanted was somebody to love and maybe someone to help him grieve over the loss of his caring older brother. Instead, all he did was rebound. When he sees Tyler on the first day of the new semester, one broken soul spots another. He knows that Tyler needs somebody as well and wonders if maybe this time, Anthony has found the one. However, Tyler is more than just a pretty face. Fear and weariness keep him alert and on his toes, making a chance for them to fall in love more difficult than he'd expected. Will Tyler be able to move on from his old life, or will the past come back to ruin any chance at true love?
