This volume, the third part of Neuro-Oncology is, in a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach, devoted to the theme of "Neurological Disorders in Systemic Cancer", focusing on issues confronting neurologists in their daily practice. Metastatic disease of the nervous system afflicts about a quarter of all patients with cancer. One chapter is devoted entirely to the origin and mechanisms causing metastatic disease of the nervous system. The neurological complications of hematological neoplasms, including the leukemias, lymphomas, and paraproteinemias, are reviewed in depth, as is the stunning progress made in unravelling the mechanisms of paraneoplastic syndromes of the nervous system.
