"Nelson Mathematics" is a scheme offering support for all of the UK Mathematics curricula. Following the review of the National Curriculum by Sir Ron Dearing in 1994, Nelson is offering a free National Curriculum update pack for existing users of "Nelson Mathematics".;This workbook set: encourages an exploratory approach through a blend of closed and open tasks; allows varied ways of recording; features a limited amount of text on the pages, so that children's enjoyment of mathematics is not affected by their reading ability; are grouped and colour-coded according to the relevant section in the teacher's resource file; children are encouraged to develop their own strategies; key vocabulary is highlighted; mental skills are encouraged, as well as paper and pencil skills; each page's purpose is stated clearly, but unobtrusively at the bottom of the page; each book is supported by the related comprehensive teacher's resource file and a separate answer book.
