Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Nella Braddy Henney Collection, Box 13: Series 1: Original Correspondence; Box 13: Folder 1-25: Correspondence From Keller, Articles, Notes, 1914-1960; Correspondence With and About Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan

Easter morning. I have just received a most interesting book, The Mountain that Was Gold, from Mr. John Williams, who heard us lecture in Tacoma. This book con' tains delightful descriptions and Splendid pictures of Mount Tacoma. I think you Will enjoy looking it over when we send it with other things to Boston later. We had glimpses of that great mountain, lord of sun and air, monarch of the coast, while we were in Tacoma. It was sixty'miles away' but in the clear air it looked as if it was only six or eight miles distant. They told me it was an easy mountain to climb. I intend to spend a month around there sometime and go to the very t0p where snow and ice and crags have held the rampart for ages.
