For the past 200 years Indian tribes have been victimized by broken promises and treaties and violent treatment up to and including genocide. Perhaps no people have suffered more than the Navajo Diné of the four-corners area of the Southwest. Forced to leave their homes, cheated out of mineral royalties, and victimized by Kit Carson's attempt to kill them all, the Navajo Nation today faces yet another calamity. There are 523 uranium mines on their reservation have been abandoned, leaking dangerous toxicity into their land, homes and even their bodies. Navajo elder John Greycloud and his friend retired Texas Ranger Captain Lobo Diaz set out to understand the scope of the danger and find themselves entangled in multiple murders.
But what is the motive for the string of killings? Will the two old friends get to the bottom of the toxicity dilemma, and help the Navajo Nation Police and the FBI solve the murders? It's contemporary action at a fever pitch, mixed with the real history of the Navajo, Hopi, Ute, Zuñi, and Apache world of the four corners.
