Soil surface and subsurface, soil profile, and air pro file temperatures were summarized to characterize the microenvironment associated with seedbeds so that comparisons could be made between seedbed treat ments for each aspect. Soil surface temperatures and subsurface-soil and air-temperature profiles were aver aged to provide estimates of mean maximum diurnal temperatures.
