I had intended to sketch the Canadian system, but found that the limits of the volume would not allow this. Here I may remark that it includes two classes of schools, the Protestant common schools, for all denominations, and a separate provision for Roman Catholic schools, under special management. Some recent articles in the London Newspaper Press, in which it has been stated that in Canada the problem of common schools for all denominations has been solved, ignore the fact that there is in Canada this special and separate provision for Roman Catholics.
