This book is a comprehensive resource for teachers and learners of National 5 Mathematics. It is unlike any other textbook in several ways. Firstly, we have given minimal space to teaching and explanation in order to provide maximum space forpractice and learner development. Secondly, we have classified each skill for National 5 as either basic skills, those skills needed to achieve an award, or higher order skills. Thirdly, we have included many of the prerequisite National 4 Mathematics skills tosupport learner development at both National 4 and 5. Fourthly, we have included many of the skills learners will need in preparation for Higher Mathematics. Finally, every exercise throughout the book is clearly labelled by level giving a clear indication of the difficulty level of questions.The book has been compiled in unit order and colour coded by mathematical skill: numerical, algebraic, geometric, trigonometric and statistical. Each skill is developed individually, allowing schools to use it in any order. Every exercise is uniquely numbered, making navigation through the book straightforward.
