Publisher's Synopsis
In 1997, Atlanta Georgia is the southern mecca of wannabe drag queens. Everyone who is anyone wants to be noticed by the famous Annabelle in her drag competition - even at the cost of attempted murder. Emma Jones, a failed journalist turned nanny, knows nothing of these drag politics but hopes to revive her career with the perfect story. When Emma receives a phone call from a stranger that her estranged twin brother has been in a wreck, she sets off for Atlanta to be by his side. Once in Atlanta, Emma realizes that her brother has been keeping many secrets after college. Not only is he gay, but he and his boyfriend, Zamora Comb-Over, are semi-famous drag queens in a drag revue. Zamora needs Emma to pose as her brother, so they can stay in Annabelle's competition and win the prize money to save their bar, The Zeppelin. Reluctantly, Emma agrees to take her brother's place in the bar shows and the competition. Emma begins a transformation that challenges the way she views everything. She changes her mind about her brother's so-called "accident," and begins to delve deep into Annabelle's dark past to find a way to get a leg up on the competition and save the bar.
