Publisher's Synopsis
"Copulation is the highest pleasure, both to the body and mind, and is worth all other human pleasures put together." The author. .."..all dreams have a sexual meaning." -Sigmund Freud This edition of the novel 'My Secret Life' is presented with "An Introduction to Sexual Organs, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Safe Sex" with more than fifty educative and exciting illustrations. The reprint of "My Secret Life," written by an anonymous author, was first published in 1888 in two volumes for private distribution among the connoisseur collectors. It was strictly limited to four hundred and seventy five copies subscribed for prior to publication. The story is in an autobiographical style where the author wonderfully narrates his curiosity on female sexual organ and sexual desire with struggle and involvements to have sex. He shows his fear for the smaller size of his sexual organ and sexually transmitted diseases. He is financially devastated owing to his lavish lifestyle and expenditure on obtaining sexual satisfaction. The man is the most curious creature on this earth whose physical senses start developing from the day he lands in the cradle. The life starts with a cry for contact, desire for warmth and milk from the mother--with longing to touch, to feel, to see, to taste, to speak and to listen to whatever comes to the ear which goes along from birth to death. For most of the children, their sexual organs become their best childhood friends and the idea to look at sexual organs of the other boys and the girls with desire for sexual intercourse troubles much before the body grows strong. We try and fail; we hesitate and succeed. The social rules and laws limit the chances for sex and forcefully convert us from polygamy to monogamy. The boys and the girls have the same curiosity for sexual intercourse but there is no formal place to learn it with freedom, pleasure and safety. One who follows his or her natural instincts and tries to follow the laws of the nature, is either charged with adultery or labeled unsocial and uncivilized. Even so, the sex is involved in our all aspirations, in our every struggle just to have the best sexual partner. No doubt that the adolescence is the true time when we most enjoy our contacts with opposite sex. The intimacy of the childhood friend, who happily led our way to the typical sexual involvements, mostly beginning with our first masturbation, definitely leaves a mark in our hearts. The shame and the hesitation takes us to the erotic literature which teaches everything whether good or bad. Though the nature teaches us the whole basics, the books and the people around still help in learning the new tricks. 'The good' and 'the bad' enter into our heads either early by luck or too late to get straightened up. A rash approach to sex without caution may lead us to physical and financial devastation. This book is a gem of the erotic literature. The author is true and honest for his subject, the language is excellent without use of slang and, the whole theme is properly balanced. Nevertheless, I find it proper to introduce the readers to the function of female and male sexual organs in addition to various infectious vaginal and penile diseases, their treatments and the precautions to be taken during sexual intercourse, especially when it is with anyone unknown. HAPPY READING AND HAVE ONLY 'SAFE SEX'.
