Ernst Grip of the Swedish Security Police has no idea why he's been summoned to New York. Met by FBI agent Shauna Friedman, he is escorted to a remote military base and asked to determine whether a prisoner is a Swedish citizen. Known only as 'N.', the man is a suspect in a terrorist attack in the US. As Grip starts to unravel the mystery of N.'s identity, he learns of his links to another group of suspects - an unlikely band of brothers in which no one is what they seem.
