Abe McDonnell's death is shrouded with questions. Why did he leave his farm to Sean McDonnell but not include the mineral rights? Sean hires Eric Bonfield to find answers about his brother's death, why a mining company has sole rights to minerals underground, and what mineral is so valuable that people die. Eric learns that somebody will do anything to cover up the truth. He dodges bullets and shrapnel from exploding cars while wrestling with his relationship to maybe-fiancé Sarah Isaacs. Eric will need all his creativity and faith to solve who is responsible for Abe's death, and who really owns the mine with the mysterious mineral. Sarah wonders if she can tolerate the danger Eric faces.
