My father, David Simonds, is what is called a raconteur. From my earliest memory, he has been telling stories of his life experiences to rapt audiences. Even today at the age of 96, his timing and intonation are perfect, as he recounts one of his marvelous stories for what may well be the 100th time. Each time he tells a story, it is fresh and lively. My Life Stories is comprised of my father's favorite tales form his storytelling repertoire. What strikes me as rare is that my father has the capacity to not only tell a good story, but also to write beautifully.
