Publisher's Synopsis

This is the record of the life and work of the 'Red Lioness' the name given to Dr. Enid M. Parker by a Danakil Sheikh. Enid's forty years spent living and working among the Afar people in northern Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti is also the story of how God brought the Gospel to this region. Going to the Danakil as a teacher Enid was asked to take up the challenge of reducing the Afar language to writing, eventually publishing two Afar Dictionaries. The story is also very much about the many people who helped her in her task: Afars, government officials, Presidents, professors, universities, her home church, members of the Red Sea Mission Team and other mission agencies and her many friends. This is a testimony of how God uses willing people, such as Enid, to do His work on earth.
