CODE BLUE, HEART LAB! CODE BLUE, HEART LAB! It's a thing we've all heard somewhere; perhaps on a television show, or maybe while waiting bored, reading months old magazines in some hospital lobby. There is a practiced urgency underlying the even tones of that voice on the intercom, and it gets our attention.We know what it means. Someone is in crisis -- not breathing or their heart has stopped; maybe both, and now we want to know what's happening. We wait and wonder. Will there be another announcement? Will we see a flurry of activity? Will there be a CANCEL CODE BLUE, HEART LAB announcement, and what would THAT mean? Did he or she make it? What?!This is my true story of surviving that CODE and what it has meant to me.
