MY English Friends have shown such a kindly interest in my French Friends, and so often ask me for news of them, not even forgetting that terrible infant the p'iz'z chou, that I take courage to tell a little more of the old, and add something of a few new friends.
My ship is again at sea. This time sailing in southern instead of northern seas, so that even that well-worn road two pairs of eyes were wont to travel to the trysting star is closed for a while, and the Southern Cross, which sheds its kindly light on his path, is hidden from my sight.
Uncle jack is still at Avenue Friedland, watched over by his faithful Perrette, whose vigilant eye is alert as ever, where her master is concerned.
