Publisher's Synopsis
Tess Gallagher is one of America's leading poets. This selection draws on five collections, including Moon Crossing Bridge (1992), the poems of remembrance, mourning and recovery she wrote after the death of her husband, the writer Raymond Carver. It also includes a group of new poems and a moving autobiographical essay, My Father's Love Letters. It does not cover her later collection Portable Kisses, published separately in Britain by Bloodaxe. This selection was not published in this form in the US and was superseded by a later retrospective, Midnight Lantern, in 2012.
