Publisher's Synopsis

I have played music my entire life. Most notably I have taught private guitar lessons to people from age 5 to age 65 for the past 8 years. I have taught old dogs new tricks and young dogs old tricks. I have taught sub-10 year olds more advanced music theory concepts than what I learned in college music theory. I focus on getting my students to write their own songs as fast as possible while developing technique using already written songs. When music became my job, it was time to learn a new skill. In the last 5 years I have taken up: - Physics, earning my Bachelors of Physics from University of Washington in just 3 years - Triathlon, even committing to swimming, biking, or running every day for the rest of my life... so far so good - Golf, in 2 years, I went from the 100s to breaking 80 - Cooking - Woodworking - Software development - Renewable energy, I co-founded a solar technology company - T-shirt branding - Corporate finance My approach to each of these skills has been that of a skydiver...jump... take in everything you can and continue to ramp up your speed... reach terminal velocity... maintain your speed until you are able to pull the ripcord and just coast to wherever you want to be in the end. Once you have gone through this process, your experience and understanding of the skill will allow you to enjoy it for a lifetime. If you aren't interested after the short trip, it has cost you very little money and about an hour of your life to determine if you want to take another jump.
