When Chief Inspector Barrows asks Inspector Witherspoon to investigate the supposed suicide of Harlan Westover, Mrs Jeffries and the staff are more than happy to suss out clues and determine if justice was miscarried during the inquest. Barrows has been approached by his former nanny, who is convinced that the inquest must have been mistaken, because her lodger had been a devout Roman Catholic. Westover was also an engineer who had just perfected a revolutionary new engine that was pulling in major sales from the mining community.
