ON readmg this verse, one mlght naturally suppose that the prophet lived In the days of Bad Roads and Locomotlves But It was not so his charrots of hghtmng were characts of War - armed and sent forth by the n of Babylon, to effect the conquest and rum of the city of nineveh From the passage however, I shall take occasion to speak, not of war, which has proved such a curse to the world, and yet, has Often been over-ruled for good but of the developement and progress of a new power, tch, we trust, 18 destined to supercede war and to Introduce Into our world, a new order of thlngs, tch seems to betoken the rapid falfil ment of prophecy Behold, I create new Heavens and a new earth' and the former Shall not be re membered, nor come Into mind In the wilderness shall waters break out and streams In the desert and a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called, the way OF holiness.
