Publisher's Synopsis
The appearance of folkloric demons sparks tensions among two neighbouring empires (the Solenstars and the Ejighas) as they disagree on how to handle the new threat. Allies only due to their mutual sympathies over the death of their wives, the two leaders lose focus on who the true enemy is - The demons or each other. When a powerful demon appears and the best warrior, Ionis, disappears leaving his legendary weapon behind; Cylis, the younger son of the Solenstar King, steps up to prove himself, taking his brother's legendary weapon with him. Ara, daughter of the Ejigha Shogun's empire, wasn't thrilled about her arranged marriage to a corrupt prince. However, she flees from potential consequences when she accidentally murders him during their courtship. The alliance between kingdoms is weak and tensions rise. As Ara ends up in danger that only magic can heal, her path crosses with Cylis and he has to choose sides to determine what type of man he wants to be.
