The novel is the story of a French great Raúl de Veneránda and he is in search of sexual pleasure to create a new and more satisfying identity for himself. In order to avoid the envy and unhealthiness of the existence of the upper class bound to its tradition, it has to break social class, gender roles and sexual morality and cross it.
