She secures a major contract from Nichols. A powerful vice-president of Nichols, with connections to the mafia in Chicago, rapes her after a business dinner. He stalks and pursues her. She tries to avoid him by becoming Tour Photographer with a major rock group. In an intimate relationship with the road manager, she becomes addicted to cocaine.Nadine returns to discover her plant manager and his wife, her accountant, have skipped town, leaving her iron-on business in shambles including an accounting nightmare with unauthorized deductions using phony chargebacks involving over a hundred thousand dollars owing to her company.Many Nichols executives admit it is all an accounting error and promise she will receive her money immediately.
