Steve Parr is originally from Little Rock and attended Vanderbilt on a football scholarship, majoring in business and Asian history. He joined Goldman Sachs directly upon graduation from Emory with an MBA. Mr. Parr served as vice-president and international specialist at Goldman Sachs Asset Management from 1977 to 1995. Steve left Goldman in 1995 to give financial and strategic advice to private and public companies, until he joined Pope Asset Management in 2001 where he was Pope's macro-economic and political analyst until 2007. In 2007 Steve founded Parr Financial Group, an entrepreneurial project capital company with a focus on natural asset mining, healthcare, and manufacturing world-wide. Mr. Parr is married to Sue Lipford, whom he met at a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting in 1973. The have been married thirty-eight years with three grown children and two grandsons. Steve has been a featured speaker for Crusade Ministries including: Momentum Europe, Athletes in Action, Quest for Significance and History's handful. He was chairman of the Memphis Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for eight years. He was a deacon at Second Presbyterian Church where he was a Sunday School teacher for fourteen years. He and his wife, Sue, are now members at Fellowship Church in Memphis where Steve has taught Sunday School for two years. Mr. Parr attended classes at Reformed Theological Seminary. During 1994 and 1995 he published a fasting newsletter. He is now publishing his first book, "Moments with the Master," as the first of a five-book yearly devotional series written in Haiku poetry form to inspire believers to spend increasing time with God.
