Publisher's Synopsis
I am from the generation brought up in the age of convenience. Fast, easy and processed was the theme. Fast food restaurants came on the scene with rapid grow. Boxes of food, frozen shrink wrapped pizzas and cans galore was all I knew. Don't get me wrong, I did have the occasional homemade meal. Holidays, visits to grandma and mom's meatloaf were staples in my childhood. But for the majority of my latter childhood it was just me and my mom and convenience food was just that convenient. I did not understand the role of food in my life. I thought it was to feed me and taste good, period. I knew I had to eat, but did not understand the power of real food. The food I once thought tasted good paled in comparison to the real food world. Not to mention how I began to feel and even think better with ditching the junk! So how did I find this love of real food. Where did it start? Interestingly it was through watching Food Network of all things. After I had my first child I discovered Racheal Ray and thirty minute meals. This was show that was focused on cooking simple, delicious, real meals in 30 minutes. This was my awakening into cooking. She opened my eyes to a world beyond boxed foods. This was the start of my real food journey! It took me over the next 15 years to grow, learn and embrace the love of real food cooking and living. During the last 5 years was when I really dove deep into the real food world. Interestingly as I began to learn about the toxins in our homes, cleaning supplies and cosmetics it made to think... what is in my foods. Then the real growth began! Now, I have a passion to share with others my knowledge. Educate fellow moms on living a real food lifestyle as a family. Empower women with the tools, support and confidence to make the change to a real food life!
